The genetic modification of plants as an issue has proved one of the cleverest instruments of transformation by the banking élite. What it veils from the masses is that land is passing from private (farmers’) hands to that of Corporations operating on the other side of the world. The G.M. issue has to resolve itself under the absolutism of the modern, yet the antique selfishness of the land grab will have been brilliantly hidden.
